Ananda
In Sanskrit, Ananda, means Bliss. Here is portrayed a female who is both centered and grounded as she stands in the Mermaid variation of the Dancer’s Pose. Yoga poses intrigue and inspire me because they create an image with very dramatic lines that evoke arresting visual interest. There is an intriguing tension between the reach of her left hand into the sky while the left foot is firmly planted on the earth, added to that is the the loop created by right hand grasping the right foot behind her.
